Vatican spokesman: Pope Benedict will not participate in the conclave to elect his successor

Posted: February 11, 2013 in Uncategorized

As everyone by now has heard the news that our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI has announced that he is resigning as Pope on February 28, 2013, I’m wondering about the prophecy of Garabandal regarding how many Popes before the Great Miracle! Any thoughts will be appreciated. Could the Warning and Miracle be at our doorstep? Come, Lord Jesus!

In the wake of this morning’s stunning news that Pope Benedict XVI will step down at the end of this month, the director of the Vatican Press Office, Father Federico Lombardi, SJ, offered a few details during a press briefing about the Pontiff’s move and what will follow:

Pope Benedict XVI has given his resignation freely, in accordance with Canon 332 §2 of the Code of Canon Law.

Pope Benedict XVI will not take part in the Conclave for the election of his successor. Pope Benedict XVI will move to the Papal residence in Castel Gandolfo when his resignation shall become effective.

When renovation work on the monastery of cloistered nuns inside the Vatican is complete, the Holy Father will move there for a period of prayer and reflection.

At Garabandal, December 20, 1962, the Virgin allegedly told Conchita that there would be four Popes before the “end of the times” (“end times”) and that one of them would have a very short pontificate. We know that this prophecy has already been fulfilled with the death of Pope John Paul I only after 33 days as Pontiff. This happened in 1978. Conchita’s exact words, recorded in 1962, were: “after Pope John (XXIII), there will come three other Popes and after… there will be no more. No, four, for one of them would not really count, the Blessed Virgin told me.” There has been some confusion on this statement in the way it was interpreted by over-zealous Garabandal supporters. There was a period of time where many thought Blessed Pope Paul II would be the pope to see the Miracle which would herald the next era in salvation history, and this even endorsed by many Centres in their publications. But we know now that such an interpretation was wrong. The initial understanding was FOUR popes before the new era begins. Whether the pope resigns or dies in office is irrelevent. Pope Benedict XVI was the ‘last’ of the four popes who the Virgin predicted at Garabandal, and that we are, upon his resignation, now in the “end times.” This new era could last as long as a thousand years or longer, of course. As with all historical eras, this is to be expected.

I heard a prophecy 2 months ago about Petros Romanos the last pope to be elected being tied in with the new world order and when i saw this mornings write up i was shocked as prophecy is being fulfilled.I have often felt pope Benedict to be to right wing traditional and officious. What is needed is a universal man of love like Pope John the 23rd to draw all people together as one, perhaps we need another council or conclave.Perhaps Pope Benedict is the fourth pope and the next Pope a new era pope so at one with his people he represents the number four as new creation and the cubed city Yours Truely Jack Gielen

It would be quite striking if our next pope would be Cardinal Turkson from Africa. Although I do not put credence in the St. Malachy prophecies, according to this, the ‘last pope’ would be Petrus Romanus – Peter the Roman. Did you know that Cardinal Turkson’s first name is Peter? And that he studied in Rome?

    • Greg says:

One would think that Christ would be able to draw all people together. We don’t need another council or conclave…just put in practice what Vatican II desired.

I spoke today on radio about the warning sign and miracle of Garabandal and this being the final pope having recieved this as a prophecy 4 weeks ago.I discussed with others what the universal sign must be a starbody crashing into the earth,a light coming on in everbodies conciousness.I then spoke about an antiloitering law the council want to bring in excluding the poor from our society and thought how the rich seem to be impervious to everything. All of a sudden everything seems to be on the line.Is there going to be another pope,Is this new era about to be birthed.I have been working on a book called Daystar Apostleship third level Christianity bringing in the reign of Christ.most Mainline churches are stuck at level one hence its going to take something extraordinary to shift them out of the rut way of thinking. What ever it takes Lord please wont you bring it on we need one big shake up.I am pleased to note Our new black cat is an efficient rat catcher dealing with the vermin on our property.Lots of love in Christ Jack Gielen.

@Jack Gielen: Conchita NEVER said that a “star-body” or somesort of celestial object would ‘crash’ into the earth. She also clarified by saying that the beginning of the Warning RESEMBLED a lot of light and noise, and that the example she gave was LIKE two stars crashing, or one exploding in the sky, but not that this would happen. It is to get our attention. It is interesting that before Jacinta Marto – one of the Fatima visionaries – died in 1920, she purportedly made a statement to her caregiver in which she said: “There is a secret of Heaven and one of the earth, and the one of the earth is terrifying. It would already seem to be the end of the world and, in this cataclysm, the sky will be separated from Heaven, which will turn white as snow.” As I surmised in my book, it would be a similar experience to that of St. Paul, and that it would probably be a prefigure of events at the end of the world, when the Lord would come like a thief in the night, as lightning from the west to east, and would also be a prefigure of our particular judgment – what we would experience immediately after our death. We will be all alone before God Himself as He reveals to us our sins and how these have hurt Him. But we will also experience His great eternal love for us. Conchita said that the Warning would be supernatural – not explained by science. The way I interpret it, it will be like a mass apparition, probably similar to what the girls at Garabandal experienced during their own.
